About the Author

Robert Nehls has been a story-teller a good share of his life, mostly in the form of poetry. Being a welder for over forty years gave him a great deal of time to think as he lived under his welding hood. The light of the arc led to numerous characters and stories ending up in poems that have been presented in a variety of publications as well as many local newspapers of places he has lived.

Robert and his wife Stevi have lived in Livingston, Montana several years and are happy to call it home. Montana is where Robert began to love and admire prairie dogs. One day he looked in his rearview mirror and saw a prairie dog that darted in front of his car, tumble to the other side of the road. He smiled and asked himself, what if? In that moment Stanley came to life and the adventure began.
